Hours: By appointment. The Gardens are open for guided tours from April 1 to October 31, and are offered Wednesday through Sunday, between 10 am and 4pm. The Gardens are closed between November 1 and March 31.
About: Nestled among the apple orchards of Western Sonoma County, the Hallberg Butterfly Gardens cover nine acres of overgrown vines and thickets, flowering pathways and meadows. We welcome individuals, small groups, and classroom visits, by appointment.
+ We scheduled a docent-led field trip, which was lovely and informative. Unfortunately, we picked the hottest day to go! But there was lots of shade to rest in throughout the tour, and also ate our lunch under the canopied picnic table area, before heading home. It was a bit of a trek from Solano County—about 1 1/2 hours—but, was well worth the trip. They offer an annual open house event, which looks like great fun. I will post that event in our group calendar for next year.
